Color Inspiration #114

I was cleaning the Stampin' Studio this week and came across a card I made years ago. The stamp set is now retired, but the colors I used was the inspiration for this week's color challenge.

This week the colors are Real Red, Basic Black and Green Galore.

In my neck of the woods, the snow is melting like crazy! It's been in the 40's (or close enough to it) every day. Although I haven't seen a robin yet, it's very apparent that Spring is almost here. Yay!

Spring means flowers, birds and bugs! Of course, when I stamp the bugs, they are nothing but cute!!!

Here's how I made my card:

The base card is Basic Black.

The Real Red cardstock piece measures 5 1/4" x 3. I ran it through my Big Shot using my favorite Perfect Polka Dots Impressions folder.

The Green Galore strip measures 1 1/2" x 5 1/4". I used my Paper Piercing Tool and my Mat Pack to pierce the left edge of the cardstock. I stamped the little beetles in the lower right corner using Green Galore ink.

I added some Whisper White 1/4" grosgrain ribbon right next to the pierced edge.

The cute little ladybugs are from the Garden Whimsy stamp set. I inked the stamp with my Real Red and Basic Black Stampin' Write markers. I stamped them onto Whisper White cardstock and punched with the 1 1/4" circle punch. They are then matted on 1 3/8" Green Galore circles. I popped them up on dimensionals to give them the attention they deserve.

The finishing touch is a bow made from Basic Black gingham ribbon.

If I remember correctly, the original card was inspired by a dress my daughter wore when she was little. It's been a long time since I picked out what my daughter is going to wear. LOL!!

Hopefully my little ladybug card has inspired you to pull out some Real Red, Basic Black and Green Galore cardstock and start stamping!!!

If you choose to take the color challenge, please leave a comment on this post with a link to your project.

Until next time.....Happy Stamping everyone!
