Technique Thursday ~ Diamond Dust Technique

Welcome to another edition of Technique Thursday! I'm super excited to share this technique with you, it's called Diamond Dust and it's been a favorite of mine for years because it includes one of my favorite things, glitter! It's very easy to do, and of course adding glitter to anything makes it better, so why not add lots of glitter to the whole image?!?! Here we go...

Stamp image as desired, for this one I used Serene Snowflakes with Pretty in Pink, Melon Mambo & Basic Gray ink:

Apply Versamark to the entire image, by laying your stamped image on Grid Paper and blotting Versamark all over it:

Next, cover the entire image with Heat & Stick Powder:

Once you've got the entire image covered in Heat & Stick powder, use your Heat Tool to "melt" the powder until your image looks like this:

Next, cover the melted Heat & Stick powder with Dazzling Diamonds Glitter:

Finally, be sure to use the Heat Tool to set the glitter into the melted Heat & Stick powder.

Here's the finished product...I just had to take these pictures outside so you can see just how sparkly they really are!

Recipe:
Stamp Sets: Serene Snowflakes
Ink: Pretty in Pink, Melon Mambo, Basic Gray
Card stock: Whisper White, Basic Gray, Pretty in Pink
Accessories: Pretty in Pink Satin Ribbon, Neutrals Designer Buttons, Whisper White 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon, Backgrounds I Texturz Plates for the Big Shot, and of course Versamark, Heat & Stick Powder & Dazzling Diamonds Glitter with the Heat Tool.

Here's another sample using this technique:

Card stock: Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla
Accessories: Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals, Scallop Trim Border Punch, Petals-a-Plenty Embossing Folder with the Big Shot, and of course Versamark, Heat & Stick Powder & Dazzling Diamonds Glitter with the Heat Tool.

And one more sample using this technique:

  15. Love this....I'd like to share this technique with our card making group. Can you tell me where I can purchase these items? I live in a small hamlet in northern Alberta and there isn't a scrapbooking store close to us......I have to order online. Is there one place where I can purchase all the items at the same time? Thank you so much for your help.

  16. Hello. I just tried this tutorial. When I first stamped my images and applied the Versamark, the Versamark left ink marks all over my paper. Thoughts?
