Blast from the Past #3!

Hi!  It's Tammy here!  I've got another Blast from the Past for you today!  What is a "Blast from the Past"?  It's a fun post where I use a sketch from the past and create a scrapbook page!!  I used the Saturday Sketch #112 today:
And, my scrapbook page:
I'm trying to catch up with all my scrapbooking--this is the 2002 Bermuda Cruise with Stampin' Up!  So, I'm only 10 years behind!! :-)  My two best friends went with me, and we had a GREAT time!!  Here are the supplies I used:
Fabulous Phrases Stamp Set;  Bashful Blue, Night of Navy and Whisper White cardstock.  Scallop Edge Punch and Boho Blossom Punch.  I also used the Night of Navy Stampin' Write marker for the journaling and title.  Very simple, but that's the way I like to scrapbook--the photos should be the focal point!

I hope you enjoy these posts!!  Come back tomorrow for another fun sketch!!!

Saturday Sketch Challenge 261

Good Evening Friends!

It's time for another fabulous sketch from your stamping 411 operators!  I was looking at the design team entries this week, and GHEESH, it looks like Gretchen and I called each other for colors!  ;-)  What's that about great minds?  LOL

I hope you're having a wonderful start to your summer and you have some time to spend with those you love.  I also hope you have some time to stamp something pretty!  This week's sketch can certainly aid in that process!  :)

So to get started lets talk about some potential measurements.  This can be a very simple layout or more elaborate based on what you're feeling today.  One possible set of measurements could be:

Base: 11 x 4 1/4", scored and folded in half at 5 1/2"
Layer 2: (represented by the dsp on the left) a strip measuring 2 x 5"
Layer 3: Ribbon, or a strip of paper 4 1/4" x 1/2"
Layer 4: 3 x 4"
Layer 5: 1/2" strip of paper, or any sentiment.

Feel free to substitute shapes and let your creativity go free!  I cant wait to see what you'll make!  Here are the operator samples for this week.

How To~Clear Mount Tips and Tricks

Hi Everyone,
I just want to share a little something with y'all. Only because I discovered people don't know how to mount their stamps properly.
I guess I shouldn't say that, as everyone might do it differently and that's all good but here is the way I do mine if you are interested. Also a few tips at the bottom I just discovered. So make sure to read on.....
SAM_0561 SAM_0562
  • Stampin' Up! Stamps come in rubber sheets as seen above. You pop one out and then find the label on the sheet of labels to affix to it. All you have to do if find the image and peel off  the paper covering like shown.
SAM_0563 SAM_0564
  • Here is the full image with paper removed and then you remove the backing from the stamp.
SAM_0566 SAM_0567
  • Next I position the stamp over the image and it fits perfectly into the cut area.
SAM_0568 SAM_0569
  • Lay flat down and press a little
SAM_0570 SAM_0573
  • Loft off and Voila' You've got your clear mount stamp done!
SAM_0574 SAM_0576
  • Now for the tips and Tricks!!!  I take my Two Way Glue Pen and squiggle a little of it onto the image...now you know when Two- Way Glue dries it becomes like Post-it Note Glue!!! So for climate like mine (Sunny Florida) I can really use a little help with my clear stamps sticking to the Acrylic Blocks.  Anyway make sure to let it dry for about 15-20 minutes and it works beautifully! AND...it leaves no residue on your blocks!
....by the way....I do the whole set at once to save time.
SAM_0577 SAM_0578
  • Another Trick it to peel off the backing of the rubber sheet
SAM_0579 SAM_0580
  • Just like this and attach to the Clear Mount Case it came in. Now you have a little organized storage for your stamps. So when you open your box they don't go flying everywhere! I've done that several times.....hehe
SAM_0581 SAM_0582
  • Here is a picture of the case open and standing ....see how it sticks? Now you can just set your stamps in there.
SAM_0583 SAM_0584
  • Here it is standing up open with the stamps set back in there and then closed.
I hope you enjoyed my little Tips And Tricks today.
Thanks for stopping in!!!

Saturday Sketch Challenge #260

Hello everyone and welcome to a new Saturday Sketch Challenge on Stamping 411! We're so glad that you've decided to visit us and we hope you find something to inspire you here!
This week's sketch gives you lots of opportunity for creativity! You can change it around, flip it, add texture, embellishments, pattern and have fun with it! We can't wait to see what you are able to create with this new sketch!
To get you started, here are some possible measurements:
  1. Layer One -- Cardstock or DSP cut to 5.5 x 8.5", scored and folded to make your Card Base
  2. Layer Two -- 3.5 x 4.5"
  3. Layer Three -- A strip cut at 1 x 5.25" -- finish edge with Border Punch or Edgelet
  4. Layer Four -- 2 x 3" -- add embellishments, ribbon and stamped images
You can make this as clean and simple OR as elaborate as you like. It depends on your taste, your creativity and the amount of time you want to spend crafting!  Let's see what the operators have to offer you this week.  :)
