Saturday Sketch Challenge 191

Good Evening Friends!

I'm very excited about tonight's sketch, and some of the samples below we have to share... but first I have some things to share with you...

McLinky has been experiencing some technical issues and we believe that those issues are over. If for some reason you want to play and linky is down, feel free to pop me an email @ e.selene@verizon.net

Next, we have some important news from our operator Robin.

Robin shares:
"A Note from Robin

I'm about to ask kind of a silly question, because I feel pretty sure I know what your answer would be. But here goes anyway - "Have you ever walked away from something you love because you knew it was the best thing for you to do?" Mmm, hmm. I thought so. Most of us have had to make hard choices from time to time so you know how it feels. Well, this week, I had to make a very difficult decision and I've decided to step down from the Operator Team here at Stamping 411. I've been doing a bit of "life-rearranging" lately and in doing so, came to the realization that I needed to release a few things in order to restore balance for both my family and myself. A very wise friend once told me this, "Just because it's a good thing, doesn't mean that it's a good thing for YOU." Wise words indeed.

I've thoroughly enjoyed my time here at the 411 and have been blessed by so many of you who play along with us each week. Thank you for sharing your talents so freely with us here, you've inspired me many times and I am grateful to have 'met' you. To my fellow Operators, keep doing what you all do so brilliantly each and every week - create masterpieces from bits of cardstock, ribbon, glue and glitter. You are all amazingly talented, beautiful women and it's been an honor to work with you over the past two years.

Stamped blessings to you all,
~~Robin"

The operators and our readers will certainly miss you Robin. We are honored to be inspired by you as well. Stampin' Up's principals of putting family first and putting first things first are what comes to mind for me in this case. You are an awesome artist, team member and have contributed so much to the success of our joint effort to support the new stamper. We're wishing you the very best of success in all your endeavors. If you think of it, pop on over to Robin's blog and let her know you will miss her.

Well~ moving along to tonight's sketch... I really had a wonderful time making my creation and hope that you'll play along too! Tonight's sketch is pretty clean and simple..

Potential measurements for your card could be:
Base 11 x 4 1/4", scored and folded in half at 5 1/2"..
**TIP** did you know that when I make my base layer, I do the scoring first? That way when I cut my 8 1/2" x 11" paper in half I have two papers scored with one swipe!
Layer 2 5 1/4" x 4"
Maybe a ribbon or a 5 1/4 x 1/2" strip of paper for the ribbon element in the sketch?
Layer 3: 3 1/2" x 2 1/2"
Layer 4: 3 1/4" x 2 1/4"

Note ** layers 3 and 4 can be replaced by a shape.. only limited to your imagination. What shape would you use there? :D

For individual measurements, feel free to pop over to the individual operator blogs.. they will give you more information on how they made their creation.. I know they'd love to hear from you.

So ~ here's what the team has for you this week! Are you sure you're ready??

Prepare ~ to be amazed!! :D

  3. I have missed you the last couple of weeks due to such a busy life, but was so glad I was able to play this week. Such beautiful cards and the sketch is wonderful. Actually made another card with it, but it is for a challenge on Friday so will not be able to post here, but will certainly give you credit. Thanks for the inspiration every week!
